The Syrian Opposition Coalition condemns the assassination of Lebanese writer and political activist Luqman Salim as it offers its condolences to his family and friends.
This crime bears the clear hallmarks of its perpetrator as was the case with the various crimes committed in Lebanon against people of free consciousness. We are in a situation in which everyone knows that a crime will take place; they know the victim, the perpetrator and his aides and masters. However, nobody is taking action to prevent such crimes from occurring. Rather, every time they chose to stand idly by until a new crime takes place in a vicious cycle of murder and criminality.
The message intended by this crime is abundantly clear. The Hezbollah militia, the Assad and Iranian regimes are putting everyone in front of two options: submission to them and their terrorist policies or risk facing murder and forced displacement.
Day after day, new facts are revealed, especially with regard to the threats that Luqman received before his death to force him to stop playing his role in exposing the dark side that the criminals seek to hide.
International actors bear primary responsibility for what is happening on the ground in Lebanon and Syria. It is imperative that they honor their commitments. More than ever, Lebanon needs concrete measures to rid it of this terrible occupation and the nightmare that besets the Lebanese people.
Mere condemnations are useless with a criminal terrorist organization that occupies Lebanon and turns it into a springboard for the implementation of external agendas and orders.
