A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) headed by President Nasr Al-Hariri, visited the Free Aleppo University in the town of Azaz in rural Aleppo where they toured its departments and laboratories and checked up on the educational process.
The delegation comprised SOC’s Vice-president Ruba Habboush, Secretary-General Abdelbaset Abdullatif, Secretary of the political committee Riyad al-Hassan, member of the political committee Bahjat Atassi, and members of the General Assembly Ahmed Tomeh and Jawad Abu Hatab.
The delegation met with the university’s rector, the administrative and teaching staff, as well as a number of graduates who obtained admission for higher studies in Turkish universities.
Al-Hariri stressed that Syrian students have set a shining example of diligence and resolve, adding that they are the hope of the country and its future. He underscored the need to support and enable Syrian students so as to rebuild the country after it was destroyed by the Assad regime and its backers.
Al-Hariri commended the efforts that the staff of the university are making despite the risks surrounding their work, most notably the terrorist bombings and bombardment by the Assad regime and its allies.
Al-Hariri also stressed that the SOC and its executive institutions will seek to secure the needs of the university and students, secure recognition of certificates issued by the university, and secure scholarships for postgraduate studies. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
