April 15, 2020
The statements made recently by the media coordinator of the so-called Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) of the PKK terrorist organization – designated as a terrorist organization by Europe, the United States, and many other states – denotes a exclusionary, sick mentality. The SDC media coordinator called for the extermination of civilians in Idlib in as he expressed his opposition to the WHO’s provision of medical aid to confront the coronavirus.
The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) condemns these statements as it calls on the Danish authorities to investigate them and consider them as hate speech and incitement to murder and terrorism.
The SOC considers these statements to be fully consistent with the acts of this terrorist organization and its affiliates in Syria, including militias and organizations under various names. This group committed the most heinous crimes against civilians, such as murder, burning, mass displacement and maiming as was documented by many reports by human and international rights groups.
The SOC renews its condemnation of the PKK-affiliated organizations with its various names as it demands that they withdraw from the towns and villages they are occupying after they forced their indigenous population to leave. The SOC also demands that these groups stop using the Syrian people as a cannon fodder in its futile war.
The SOC reaffirms its commitment to the goals and principles of the Syrian revolution, which call for the establishment of a state that it based on equal citizenship, freedom, and justice. The SOC also stresses that Syria is for all of its citizens, regardless of religion, race, or gender, and that all citizens are equal under the rule of law, and that they are all partners in the present and future of Syria.
