Syrian Coalition Office to the United Nations
New York, NY
July 24, 2013
The Syrian Coalition is pleased to announce that Syrian Coalition President Ahmad Al-Assi Al-Jarba and a senior delegation of Coalition representatives will brief members of the United Nations Security Council on Friday 26 July.
This is the first Coalition Presidential delegation to visit the United States or the United Nations. The Arria-format meeting with members of the Security Council is expected to focus on the dire humanitarian circumstances in Syria and the region, and the urgent need for international action to bring an end to the conflict and support Syria’s democratic transition. President Jarba’s delegation will include Michel Kilo, Dr. Burhan Ghalioun, and Dr. Najib Ghadbian, the Syrian Coalition’s Special Representative to the United Nations.
The Coalition’s United States Offices serve as the official liaison to the US government and United Nations on matters relating to the pro-democracy movement, including the coordination and delivery of much-needed humanitarian aid to Syria.
