Press Statement
Syrian Coalition
Istanbul, Turkey
January 6, 2014
The Syrian Coalition condemns the kidnapping of the former president of the Aleppo Provincial Council, Muhammad Yahiya Na’na’, who was abducted on Sunday, January 5, by an unknown group from the town of Hreitan, rural Aleppo.
The Syrian Coalition calls for the immediate release of Muhammad Yahiya Na’na’, and reiterates it will continue to work with the Supreme Military Council to discover the fate and secure the release of hundreds of journalists, human rights activists, and ordinary civilians held in Syria.
Those with strong ties to the Assad regime have repeatedly violated the freedom of civilians, clergymen, and peaceful activists, who devote their lives to serving the revolution and its goals.
We ask for Mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
