The Syrian Coalition reaffirms its rejection and condemnation of the expansion of the militias of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in Iraq and their attempts to seize control of large parts of the country. These attempts coincide with the Iranian expansion in eastern Syria.
The Coalition warns of the grave consequences of this project on both Iraq and Syria. It also denounces the Iranian-backed attack on Iraq Kurdistan Region and the Iranian support for the PMF militias led by the terrorist Qasem Soleimani. The Coalition condemns this attack as blatant interference by Iran and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps terrorist group in Iraq, stressing that the unity and territorial integrity of Iraq is all part and parcel of the unity and territorial integrity of Syria.
The future of the region must be freely determined by its people and without any foreign interference seeking to impose its agendas using the force of arms, extremism, and terrorism.
