The Syrian National Coalition expresses shock at statements made by the US Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson who compared those fleeing the Assad regime’s bombardment to “rabid dogs.”
The Syrian National Coalition emphasizes that these remarks are tactless and lack a sound humanitarian common sense which require condemning Syria’s dictator, Bashar al-Assad, who is responsible for the killing of nearly 400,000 civilians and the displacement of more than half of the Syrian people instead of insulting his victims.
The Syrian National Coalition calls upon President Obama’s administration, the US Congress, the Republican and Democratic parties to condemn these remarks and to make a distinction between those fleeing Assad’s tyranny and those who exploit the Syrian people’s suffering to carry out terrorist acts.
