The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) is mourning the loss of Syrian writer and journalist Hakam Al-Baba, who passed away in London on Sunday at the age of 62. Al-Baba was a strong supporter of the Syrian revolution from the very beginning and always stood on the side of the Syrian people.
Al-Baba was known for his courageous and honorable stances, including his statement that “the brutality of the Assad regime has been unprecedented in Syria’s history.”
Born in the city of Hama in 1961, Al-Baba obtained a diploma in media and a license in theatrical arts. He worked as a journalist for several Arab media outlets and made significant contributions to the field of television.
We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Al-Baba during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, and we ask for mercy and forgiveness for the departed.
