Syrian activists have launched a media campaign on social media platforms to expose the crimes Russia is committing in Idlib province as Russian airstrikes continue to cause dozens of civilian casualties on a daily basis. The campaign was launched under the title “Idlib Doomsday” to describe the massacres and destruction Russia is causing in the province.
Using the hashtags #murderous guarantor and #Russia kills civilians, activists demanded a halt to the Russian bombing campaign against civilians in many towns and villages of Idlib province as they called for action to deter the Russian air force.
Organizers of the campaign posted photos and videos showing victims of the Russian airstrikes and the widespread destruction to buildings, hospitals and other civilian facilities.
In addition to Arabic, activists used English and Russian languages to convey their message, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to protect civilians and stop the Russian bombing campaign.
Local media outlets said that the Assad regime offensive in Idlib was expanding as the Russian and Assad regime air forces targeted new towns and villages in rural Idlib on Monday.
Regime helicopters on Monday dropped barrel bombs on the village of Skeik in southern rural Idlib, while regime heavy artillery pounded the towns of Khan Sheikhoun and the village of Mouzara. Regime forces also carried out artillery shelling on the towns of Jisr al-Shughour and the villages of Zayniyah and Badama in western rural Idlib.
