The Assad regime and Russian forces continue to violate the ceasefire in place as they on Sunday shelled at least 14 villages and towns in Idlib province, killing five civilians and wounding eight others.
According to the Syrian Civil Defense, four civilians, including two children, were killed and three others were wounded in an explosion of mortar shell that was earlier fired by regime forces near a IDP camp near the town of Baliyoun in southern rural Idlib.
Artillery shelling by regime forces also killed a woman and injured a man and two children in the town of Kansafra. The shelling also injured a man in the town of Kafranbel and another one in Arinba in southern rural Idlib.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights said that Halima Gharibi died as a result of the artillery shelling by regime forces which targeted Kansafra in southern rural Idlib on Sunday.
The Network also said that Ali Maghlaj died from wounds he suffered in previous shelling by regime forces in the village of Kafarawaid in southern rural Idlib.
The regime shelling also hit several villages and towns, including Kafr Sijnah, Maaret Mater, Kfarrouma, Rakaya Sijnah, Haas, Kansafra, Heish, Naqir, Arinba, Jabala, Baliyoun, Maaret al-Nu’man, Kafranbel, and Talmennis.
Despite the ceasefire announced on August 30, regime forces have been violating the agreement as dozens of people were killed and wounded in a clear continuation of the war crimes against civilians. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
