Head of the Syrian Interim Government (SIG), Abdurrahman Mustafa, met with director general of the Qatar Fund for Development, Khalifa Al-Kuwari and discussed with him several service projects aimed at improving the living conditions in the liberated areas.
Mustafa pointed out that more than four million people in the liberated areas need access to essential services in view of the Assad regime’s destruction of the majority of vital institutions and facilities.
Success in managing the liberated areas is extremely important for the Syrian revolution, Mustafa said, adding that efforts are underway to find an alternative to the collapsing institutions of the Assad regime.
Mustafa stressed that the mass displacement of civilians in the liberated areas have put a heavy burden on SIG; increased the need for new projects to enhance stability, security, and improve educational and health services.
Al-Kuwari reaffirmed Qatar’s continued support for the Syrian people, especially for the projects designed to alleviate their suffering. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
