Coordinator of the Syrian National Coalition’s Office in Aleppo, Ahmed Al-Shehadi, visited the Ministry of Local Administration in the Afrin region and met Minister Mohamed Suleiman.
Al-Shehadi was accompanied with members of the Aleppo Provincial Council. The two sides discussed the situation in rural Aleppo as well as the role of the Syrian Interim Government (SIG) and the Council in relieving the people being displaced from Idlib and southwestern rural Aleppo.
Participants in the meeting also discussed ways to meet the basic needs of the IDP, especially those related to shelter, health services, and food aid.
They stressed the need to develop the work of the Council, especially with regard to responding to the needs of the people being forcibly displaced from their homes as a result of the ongoing onslaught by the Assad regime and its backers against civilians.
