Syrian Coalition: Syrian and Palestinian Peoples are Struggling for a Common Cause

The Syrian Coalition stresses that “the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza has revealed that the Syrian and Palestinian peoples are fighting for a common cause against two bloodthirsty enemies who are bombing unarmed civilians and besieging them in an attempt to undermine their will and break their resolve. The steadfastness of the Palestinians and their victory over their enemy has boosted the morale of the Syrian people and strengthened their faith that victory is near. We also welcome the declaration of a long-term cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, whereby the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip was lifted.” The Syrian Coalition points out that “the ceasefire agreement was reached through serious and decisive decisions that compelled the offending side to stop bombing of civilians and lifting the siege in line with the international and humanitarian laws. Efforts must be stepped up to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to those affected by the Israeli 50-day bombing on Gaza and also to support reconstruction which would bring stability to the Gaza Strip. We hope that security and stability is restored to Palestine, and we are confident that the Palestinian people will one day regain their freedom and end the Israeli occupation of the entire Palestinian territories.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
