The Syrian Interim Syrian Government (SIG) has issued a general amnesty for the militants who were forced to join the militia of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and whose hands were not stained with the blood of the Syrian people. It stressed that the move came out of its keenness to “preserve the national brotherhood and coexistence under the slogan: Syria is a homeland for all Syrians.”
In a statement issued on Monday, SIG called on the people of the liberated areas east of the Euphrates River who had been lured into joining the ranks of terrorist organizations to surrender their arms and report to SIG’s security forces so as to be able to return along with their families to their homes.
The statement said that the PYD militants who voluntarily surrender themselves will be released if they were not found to be involved in criminal acts.
SIG pointed out that the first batch of surrendered PYD militants were released on Monday, adding that they would be allowed to return to their homes so as to help their brothers rebuild their towns and villages which were destroyed by terrorist organizations.
