Rebel fighters continue to hold off the regime’s attacks on the district of Darayya near Damascus. Earlier today, rebel fighters said they destroyed a tank and a minesweeper belonging to regime forces who have been trying to advance on the western side of the town for over a month.
Yesterday, regime helicopters dropped around 44 barrel bombs on various parts of the district.
Rebel fighters also said that 26 pro-regime militants were killed by friendly fire on Friday on the outskirts of the district.
Spokesman for Darya Media Centre Hossam al-Ahmed told Anadolu agency that regime helicopters dropped two barrel bombs on a regime position, killing 26 militants and wounding 17 others.
Al-Ahmad added that they saw ambulances rushing the dead and the wounded pro-regime militants to hospitals in Damascus.
Meanwhile, rebel fighters in eastern Ghouta said they killed and wounded around 25 pro-regime militants in clashes on Al-Marj frontline yesterday. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
