Hundreds of protestors marched through the streets of Suwayda in southern Syria for the second consecutive day, chanting anti-regime slogans.
The demonstrators on Monday chanted ‘long live Syria. Down with Bashar al-Assad,’ ‘O Bashar, you minion! This revolution will not die down,’ and ‘traitor he who kills his own people.’
Similar protests broke out on Sunday with the protestors chanting ‘Syria is free. Iran out!’ ‘Syria is ours. It is not Assad family’s,’ ‘Go Bashar,’ and ‘the people want the downfall of the regime.’ Protestors stressed that they will continue to demonstrate against the regime in the coming days.
The demonstrators made it clear that Bashar Al-Assad is mainly to blame for the deteriorating security and living conditions, stressing that the rift between Assad and his cousin Rami Makhlouf was a major reason for the collapse of the Syrian pound and the rapidly worsening living conditions in the country.
