The Emergency Response Coordinators Team in northwestern Syria appealed to humanitarian organizations and agencies to assume their responsibility and meet the needs of the IDPs in northwestern Syria after a rainstorm hit the region on Monday. The heavy rain caused damage to more than 23 IDPs camps sheltering more than 3,609 households.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Team called on humanitarian organizations and agencies to urgently intervene to meet the needs of the IDPs. It warned that the suffering of the IDPs will further worsen as more severe weather conditions are in the offing.
The team also stressed the need to provide the necessary support to confront the coronavirus pandemic, especially after infections amongst the IDP exceeded 1,960. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
