FSA & Rebel Fighters Cut off Regime’s Supply Route to Aleppo, Advance on City’s West

FSA and rebel groups announced they have cut off the Khanasser-Ithiriya road in eastern rural Hama, which is the Assad regime’s only supply route to the areas under its control in Aleppo province. They also said that they destroyed 3 Russian military vehicles with anti-tank missiles on the road on Friday.

FSA and rebel fighters have continued the push on western Aleppo to break the siege on the rebel-held areas in the city’s east. On Friday, they announced they managed to break into the strategic 3,000 Apartments Project area.

The Hezbollah militia, one of various foreign Iranian-backed militias fighting alongside regime forces in Aleppo, announced that 8 of its militants were killed in clashes with FSA and rebel fighters in the city on Thursday.

Member of the Syrian Coalition’s political committee Muwaffaq Nyrabiya on Friday commended the sacrifices made by the FSA and rebel fighters trying to break the Assad regime’s siege on eastern Aleppo, calling on all the Free Syrian Army and rebel groups to unite under one national project.

Nyrabiya pointed out that the FSA and rebel fighters in Aleppo are fighting a battle of self-defense against regime forces and their allied Iranian-backed militias, stressing that the Syrian people will continue the fight to ward off the Russian blatant aggression on Syria.

Nyrabiya highly praised the heroic resistance and steadfastness shown by the people of eastern Aleppo as well as their refusal to leave their homes, emphasizing their right to stay in their city and to resist the mass forced displacement and demographic change operations policies being pursued by the Assad regime and its Russian and Iranian allies. Preserving independence and national sovereignty and maintaining the Syrian people’s unity within the same Syrian soil
is one of the critical pillars of the Syrian Coalition. The Coalition aims to overthrow the Assad regime along with all its
symbols and pillars. It also aims to dismantle its security apparatus and hold accountable those involved in crimes
against Syrians. In addition, it seeks to achieve a transition to a pluralistic, democratic and civil Syria.
