The Ministry of Education in the Syrian interim government said it is overseeing a project to revise curricula for Syrian schools. The curriculum currently adopted by the interim government and the Syrian Coalition was reviewed and revised by specialized committees and was printed by the ministry. The front page of the new textbooks contains the phrase: Syrian interim government, the Ministry of Education along with the logo of the Syrian interim government. The ministry also said that recently there has been much clamor about some erroneous information and phrases used in the edition of textbooks currently taught at the Syrian cities and in neighboring countries. “Some of this information was inadvertently included in the textbooks, while others were inserted by entities associated with the Assad regime. Some editions were published by civil society organizations to meet the great need for textbooks for hundreds of thousands of students inside and outside Syria. However, they contain some unintentional errors that are being revised by the ministry. We call upon everyone interested in building the homeland to show positive criticism and counselling and not to mistrust the revolutionary institutions that are doing their best to alleviate the suffering of our people.” (Source: Syrian Interim Government)
