Nadir al-Jibly, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in the interim government, said that the ministry has prepared projects in the electricity sector, including a project to link the Syrian electricity grid to its Turkish counterpart through the town of Azaz in northern rural Aleppo in cooperation with the Turkish authorities. The project includes two phases: the first one is setting up electricity towers with a cost of more than two million dollars, while the second phase includes securing funding for the purchase of electricity from Turkey at international prices, which will cost millions per month.” Al Jibly also said that the Ministry has also developed a project to supply the liberated areas with gas cylinders at affordable prices through the establishment of centers for gas refueling near the Turkish and Jordanian borders. We seek to provide the liberated areas with 150,000 gas cylinders, and the gas will be imported from Turkey. The subsidized propane gas cylinder will be sold for 500 SYP.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
