The Deaths Documentation Office in Dara’a said that it has recorded no fewer than 76 assassinations and attempted assassinations of former commanders in the Free Syrian Army in Dara’a province since 2018, pointing out that 42 commanders were killed while 34 survived, some with injuries.
In a report issued following the assassination of former FSA commander Adham al-Akrad along with four of his comrades on Wednesday, the Office said that the assassinations are targeting former FSA commanders who were forced to agree to the so-called reconciliation agreements with the Assad regime under Russian guarantees. It pointed out that the assassinations involved shooting, IEDs, and execution following kidnapping.
The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) said that the assassination of former commander in the Free Syrian Army, Adham al-Akrad along with four of his comrades have proved the serious dangers of falling for the deceptive Russian calls for the so-called reconciliation agreements and settlements with the treacherous Assad regime.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the SOC said that Al-Akrad and his comrades two years ago were forced to conclude so-called reconciliation agreements with the Assad regime under Russian guarantees in Dara’a province.
“We hold the Assad regime and the Hezbollah militia fully responsible for this heinous crime and all other crimes targeting former FSA members in southern Syria,” the SOC said. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
