The Syrian National Army launched a counter attack against the Assad regime forces and their allies in the Saraqib region in eastern rural Idlib with Turkish military support.
Local activists said that the opposition fighters had regained control of large parts of the town of Al-Nayrab, inflicting heavy losses on Assad’s forces.
The opposition fighters shot down a helicopter belonging to the Assad regime forces and damaged another one, forcing it to make an emergency landing. Activists on Tuesday published a video showing the helicopter in flames while falling down near the town of Qmeinas east of Idlib.
Local media outlets indicated that the opposition fighters killed and injured dozens of regime forces and destroyed a tank in the town of Al-Nayrab.
They also destroyed a 23-mm machine gun belonging to regime forces outside the town of Dadikh in eastern rural Idlib using an anti-tank guided missile. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
