The Assistance Coordination Unit and Syrian Interim Government handed over the first installment of the funding budgeted to buy emergent relief aid for civilians in the besieged areas in Damascus, Eastern and Western Ghouta and Al-Waer district in Homs.
Local partners have embarked on the preparation and the distribution of food rations and baby milk to the trapped civilians. Five partners are carrying out the relief campaign: Damascus Governorate Council, Homs Governorate Council, Quneitra Governorate Council, Al-Sham Amanah organization.
The local partners are expected to conduct the second phase of the relief campaign for which $2.5 million USD were budgeted and are going to be distributed to the local partners according to the size of their areas, the needs and accessibility to these areas. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
