In a renewed offensive to liberate the town of Bashqwi in northern rural Aleppo, rebel fighters took control of some parts of the town after pounding regime positions with Grad rockets and tanks. Activists said that many pro-regime militants were killed or injured in the attack.
The village of Bashqwi was turned into a bastion by Hezbollah militia and the foreign sectarian militias recruited by Iran and sent to Syria.
Meanwhile, Jaish al-Islam denied responsibility for attacking Damascus with rockets and mortar fire, accusing the Assad regime of targeting neighborhoods of Damascus to justify its non-stop aggression and brutal aerial attacks on Rural Damascus, especially on the towns of Douma,
In statement posted on his official website, Jaish al-Islam said that the rockets that hit civilian neighborhoods in Damascus were fired from regime positions in Mount Qassioun and the Sabboura area in Rural Damascus. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
