The Syrian Coalition strongly condemns the assassination of the FSA Lieutenant Colonel Jamil Ra’doun, describing the assassination as terrorism executed by the Assad regime.
Ra’doun, who was the commander the Suqur al-Ghab conglomerate, was killed in the explosion of a device planted under his car in the Turkish city of Antakya.
Ra’doun survived an assassination attempt in April.
The Syrian Coalition extends the most sincere condolences to Ra’doun family and his fellow fighters in the FSA, describing him as an example for the soldiers who fought for the Syrian people’s freedom and dignity.
Since defecting from regime forces early in the revolution, Ra’doun and his group fought bravely in many battlefronts across Syria, most notably in the ongoing battles to liberate Al-Ghab Plain in rural Hama.
The Syrian Coalition calls upon the FSA commanders and fighters to exercise the highest degree of caution following reports of the Assad regime and Iran to assassinate rebel commanders inside and outside Syria to compensate for the huge losses they have been suffering lately.
