The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) said it had documented 1,641 people killed across Syria in November.
Russia has recently escalated bombing of populated places, especially markets, hospitals and schools. While Russia claims they are targeting ISIS, dozens of innocent civilians are killed almost on a daily basis in Syria by Russian airstrikes.
Shelling of rebel-held areas by regime forces; summary executions of civilians carried out by ISIS and the PYD and lack of food and medicine in besieged areas are also big contributors to civilian casualties.
In November, the death toll amounted to hundreds of people including 213 children and 147 women, in addition to 66 people who died under torture in Assad’s prisons.
According to SHRC, during the past month of November, 606 people were killed by Russian airstrikes, 89 by ISIS, 37 by PYD militiamen and 24 people by the international anti-ISIS coalition.
The death toll includes 20 people who died due to malnutrition and lack of medicine caused ISIS’s siege of the regime-held neighborhoods in Deir Ezzor city and by the siege regime forces has long imposed on eastern Ghouta.
The figures cited were in the following areas: 387 in Damascus province, 310 in Aleppo, 272 in Idlib, 193 in Deir Ezzor, 138 in Homs, 126 in Dara’a, 97 in Hama, 68 in Raqqa, 37 in Latakia, and 3 in Quneitra. (Source: Syrian Coalition + SHRC)
