At least 15 people, including four children and two women, were killed and 27 others were injured in Russian airstrikes on residential areas in rural Idlib on Friday.
The Syrian Civil Defense said that Russian jets carried out at least 11 airstrikes on the town of Kfariya near Idlib late on Friday, killing 15 civilians and causing widespread destruction to residential buildings.
Similar attacks targeted the towns of Khan Sheikoun and the villages of Foua and Tahtaya, without reports of casualties.
The Assad regime and Russian warplanes targeted farmlands east of the town of Khan Sheikoun with thermobaric bombs. They also targeted the outskirts of the village of Sahyan north of Khan Sheikhoun with cluster munitions, without reports of casualties.
The Syrian Coalition earlier called for holding to account those responsible for breaches of the demilitarized zone agreement as well as for implementing the agreed upon monitoring and follow-up mechanisms. It also called for preventing the regime from using the agreement as a means of concealment and impunity.
Several villages and towns in the provinces of Idlib and Hama have been subjected to relentless bombings by the Russian and Assad regime air forces as well as artillery and rocket shelling in recent weeks. The bombings have so far killed and injured hundreds of civilians although the area is covered by the Idlib Agreement. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
