The Syrian Civil Defense on Tuesday said that seven civilians were killed and 22 others wounded in Assad regime airstrikes that hit central Idlib and the industrial zone.
Deadly Russian airstrikes on Monday killed at least 22 people in western rural Aleppo. Meanwhile, the Syrian National Coalition sent letters and memos to the United Nations and Friends of the Syrian People urging an end to the atrocious crimes against civilians in Idlib and rural Aleppo.
Local activists said that aerial bombardment killed nine civilians and injured 13 others, many of them women and children, in the town of Abyan Samaan in western rural Aleppo.
The victims also included a civilian who was killed in airstrikes that hit the town of Al-Atareb west of Aleppo. Violent airstrikes and barrel bomb attacks pummeled no fewer than eight towns and villages in Idlib province on Monday.
Bombardment and shelling by the Assad regime and Russian forces killed and injured more than 44 people, including women and children, in rural Aleppo on Sunday.
President of the Syrian National Coalition, Anas al-Abda, on Monday sent a legal memorandum to the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, stressing that “the continued failure of the international community to save the Syrian people from the worst humanitarian catastrophe since the World War II will lead to the breakdown of the credibility of international institutions in the eyes of peoples and governments.”
Al-Abda said: “The time has come to demonstrate the ability of the United Nations to carry out its duties by adopting urgent, new and effective strategies that protect the Syrian people, reform the international organization and salvage its credibility.” (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
