The Syrian Coalition’s Media Office said it has recorded at least 42 breaches of the ceasefire agreement by regime forces and their allies in nine Syrian provinces on Monday.
The Office added that 12 civilians, including a child and a woman, were killed in those breaches on Monday.
Local activists confirmed that regime forces and the Hezbollah Militia continue to bomb towns and villages of Wadi Barada valley in Rural Damascus, especially the villages of Husseiniya and Ayn Alfija.
Regime forces on Monday also shelled Madwara Mount as well as the villages of Buwaida, Aleis, Alzurba, Khirbet Almanasir, and Alziyara in southern rural Aleppo with heavy artillery.
Member of the Syrian Coalition’s political committee Yasser Farhan on Monday called upon Russia to force the Assad regime and the allied Iranian militias to respect the cease-fire agreement and prevent any attempts to sabotage it.
France on Monday called on Russia to stop its military action in Syria and respect the ceasefire brokered by Moscow and Turkey announced on December 29, 2016.
“We resolutely condemn everything Russia could do in Syria that would contribute to a continuation of fighting,” Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said on France Inter radio.
“We hope talks between separate Syrian forces will continue so the ceasefire can hold,” Cazeneuve said. “We ask the Russians to stop taking part in military operations which are deadly operations,” he added, without specifying which actions in particular he was referring to.
