Syrian Coalition stressed that the Kurdish cause is an essential part of the Syrian people’s struggle for freedom, dignity and overthrowing tyranny to establish a state based on political pluralism.
The Coalition referred to the prominent role of the Kurds in the March 2004 uprising in Alhasaka as well as in in the 2011 Syrian Revolution against the bloody Assad regime.
The Syrian Coalition made these remarks during a visit by a delegation from the political committee led by President Anas Alabdah to Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. The visit began on Monday and is scheduled to conclude on Wednesday.
The Coalition stressed commitment to the document signed with the Kurdish National Council in 2015, adding that Syria’s Kurds are an essential component of the Syrian Coalition.
The Coalition’s delegation emphasized that Iraq’s Kurdistan Region will be a strategic partner to the new Syria, praising its position supporting the revolution against the Assad regime and its generous hosting of Syrian refugees.
The Kurdish National Council’s office in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region welcomed the visit, calling on the Coalition to consolidate ties with the administration of the region.
The meeting discussed the latest political developments with regards to the Geneva talks and the negotiating process.
Along with Alabdah, the Coalition’s delegation included Abdul Ahad Steifo, Haitham Rahma, Hawass Akeed, Mohammed Jojah. The delegation will meet with President of Iraq’s Kurdistan region Massoud Barzani and a number of officials. They will also visit Syrian refugees’ camps in the Region. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
