President of the Syrian Coalition Anas al-Abdah said that the Syrian opposition would reject any political solution if it gave Assad a role to play in the transitional period or in Syria’s future.
During a visit on Thursday to a sanatorium in the Turkish town of Reyhanli where the wounded and ill who were evacuated from the towns of Zabadani and Madaya are receiving medical care, Abdah reaffirmed that the Syrian opposition will not waive the rights of the Syrian people to freedom and dignity.
Abdah highly commended the steadfastness and courage shown by rebels of Zabadani and all the FSA fighters across Syria, praising the heroic resistance they put up defending the town against the regime’s brutal attacks backed by the Hezbollah militia and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
Those injured and ill in Reyhanli called upon the international humanitarian organizations to act diligently in order to lift the blockades on the besieged areas; ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid; and evacuate the remaining wounded and ill people who are denied medical care as a result of the siege imposed by pro-regime forces.
