President of the Syrian Coalition Anas Abdah on Saturday met with representatives of the Turkey-based International Organization of Refugees and Human Rights.
The meeting discussed increased support for Syrian refugees in Turkey and ways to provide more services to them in cooperation with the Turkish authorities. The meeting also discussed filing lawsuits against war criminals from the Assad regime, Russia, and Iran.
The International Organization of Refugees and Human Rights is a NGO that supports the rights of refugees and provides them with advice and guidance on how to abide by Turkish laws and avoid violation of local laws. It also helps refugees with respect to the procurement of personal, legal, and travel documents, the hiring of lawyers in the law courts, and at the border crossings.
Head of the Coalition’s legal committee Haitham Maleh who attended the meeting said that the committee is ready to cooperate with the Organization in offering help to the Syrian refugees in Turkey who fled the war machine of the Assad regime as well as its Russian and Iranian allies. He said that the procurement of personal and legal documents is the biggest problem facing Syrian refugees in the diaspora, expressing hope that the Organization will offer help in this regard.
