Abdul Basit Abdul Latif, a member of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s political committee and Coordinator of al-Jazira and Euphrates Committee, expressed his gratitude to the Syrian tribal community in the east of the Euphrates River for their aid to the earthquake-affected people in northwestern Syria.
He hailed the 75-truck aid convoy from the tribal community of Deir Ezzor and Manbij, saying it is the largest aid that has arrived in the region and surpasses the aid provided by the United Nations.
Abdul Latif called on the United Nations to intervene and provide urgent relief to the affected people while urging that the issue should remain humanitarian and not be politicized.
He emphasized that the successful campaign launched by the tribal community showcased Syrian unity in times of hardship.
