The Syrian Coalition announced last night the reelection of Ahmad Tomeh as interim prime minister during the elections conducted by the General Assembly. He secured 63 votes from the 65 Syrian Coalition members who participated in the vote on Tuesday night. The list of candidates include Ahmad Tomeh, Prime Minister of the caretaker government, his deputy, Iyad Qudsi, former interim Prime Minister Ghassan Hito, Mohammed Yasin Najjar, Walid Al-Zoubi, Mohammad Rahhal, Safaa’ Zarzour, Lamia Nahas, Ali Badran, and Saba Hakim, Abdul Rahman Dadam, Abdo Hossam El Din, and Hani Khabbaz. The runoff to the elections included three candidates: Ahmad Tomeh, Ali Badran and Yassin al-Najjar. The General Assembly included its meeting yesterday after discussing the legal and governing relationship between the Syrian Coalition and the Syrian interim government and the position toward the international anti-ISIS coalition.
