Ayman Al-Asimi, a member of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), drew parallels between the current events in Daraa province, particularly in the town of Jasim, and the night demonstrations that ignited the Syrian revolution in its early stages, back in Daraa.
Al-Asimi highlights that the spirit of the revolution still burns passionately in the hearts of the free people across Syria, even amidst the relentless efforts of the Assad regime, its allies, and militias to suppress it.
Emphasizing the enduring fervor for freedom and dignity, Al-Asimi asserted that as long as there are vibrant individuals who yearn for a life of liberty, the flame of the revolution will persist, undiminished.
Yesterday, Sunday evening, the town of Jasim in northern rural Dara’a witnessed an anti-regime demonstration. The protestors passionately demanded the release of detainees from Assad regime’s prisons.
Local activists reported that scores of Jasim residents gathered outside the cultural center, protesting against the oppressive practices of the Assad regime’s security forces. The demonstration saw the raising of the revolutionary flag and the chanting of slogans demanding the regime’s overthrow, and an end to the repressive actions of the security forces against civilians.
