The President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, has strongly condemned the brutal bombing carried out by regime forces on civilian homes and vital centers in the liberated areas of northern Syria. These attacks have resulted in numerous casualties since the onset of this year, with the most recent tragedy being the death of the child Muhammad Hamiko on Sunday in the village of Daret Izza, located in Aleppo countryside. Muhammad was killed when the car, transporting him and his brother from school to their home, was targeted by a guided missile launched by regime forces.
According to the Syrian Civil Defense, regime forces targeted a civilian vehicle, transporting children returning home from school in Daret Izza village, with a guided missile. This resulted in the death of one child and the injury of three civilians, including two children, one of whom remains in critical condition—the brother of the deceased child.
Additionally, regime forces conducted two separate attacks on liberated areas in the Al-Ghab Plain in Hama countryside on Sunday, utilizing suicide drones. The first attack struck a civilian vehicle in Al-Zaqqum village, while the second targeted another civilian vehicle in Al-Hamidiyah village. Furthermore, two additional attacks targeted the outskirts of Qastoun town.
Al-Bahra emphasized that the use of guided missiles and suicide drones against civilians underscores the regime’s deliberate targeting of innocent civilians and vital civilian centers. He asserted that this strategy aims to undermine the residents’ sense of security and stability within the liberated regions and poses a direct threat to their lives.
Highlighting the urgency of a robust international response to these terrorist attacks, Al-Bahra called for immediate cessation through the stringent implementation of UN resolutions on Syria, notably Resolutions 2118 and 2254.
