Al-Hariri Meets Syria Advisor in Iraqi Kurdistan Region

President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition Nasr al-Hariri visited ARK TV and Radio Rebaz which are affiliated with the Syrian Kurdish National Council where he met with the staff who gave an overview on the issues they are working, especially the dialogue sessions that they hold with the Syrian political elites residing in the region and beyond.

The SOC’s delegation comprised SOC’s Vice-presidents Abdel Hakim Bashar and Ruba Habboush, Secretary General Abdelbaset Abdullatif, Coordinator of the Department of the Foreign Relations Abdulahad Asteipho, members of the political committee Muhammad Yahya Maktabi, Muhammad Salou, Yasser Al-Farhan.

Commenting on the violations and abuses in the liberated areas, Al-Hariri said that they do not affect a single component, but rather come as a result of the lack of discipline on the part of some elements. He stressed that the SOC is working with the Syrian Interim Government and the Syrian National Army to address these violations and abuses, adding that the SOC continues to improve conditions in those areas and uphold the rule of law.

Al-Hariri was briefed on the progress of work in the two media stations, especially the programs that shed light on Syria and expose the violations of the PYD and PKK organizations such as arbitrary arrest, forced displacement, and forced conscription.

Al-Hariri underscored the important role of media in shedding light on the suffering of the Syrian people, conveying the true picture of what is going on, and confront attempts by some social media to distort reality.

He said that despite the onerous burden and major difficulties, conditions in the liberated areas are considerably improving. He stressed the need to cultivate a media discourse that is national and strengthens bonds of brotherhood between the various Syrian components as well as confronts the propaganda aimed at the creation of sedition and rifts among Syrians. Preserving independence and national sovereignty and maintaining the Syrian people's unity within the same Syrian soil is one of the critical pillars of the Syrian Coalition. The Coalition aims to overthrow the Assad regime along with all its symbols and pillars. It also aims to dismantle its security apparatus and hold accountable those involved in crimes against Syrians. In addition, it seeks to achieve a transition to a pluralistic, democratic and civil Syria.
