President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem al-Meslet, stressed that eliminating terrorist organizations requires fighting their sponsors first, adding that Syria will not be safe for its people or its neighborhood as long as the Assad regime and its allied terrorist groups are there.
Al-Meslet made it clear that the criminal Assad regime has been sheltering leaders of terrorist groups for years, and has been using them to threaten neighboring countries, and implementing with them a terrorist agenda aimed at destabilizing the countries of the region and threatening their security.
Al-Meslet said that the Syrian people have suffered and are still suffering at the hands of a criminal regime and terrorist organizations serving one agenda. He also said that hundreds of thousands of Syrians have so far sacrificed their lives in their struggle against the criminal regime and its allies, mercenaries and terrorist militias.
He stressed that terrorism cannot be fought with another terrorism, as both pose a serious danger to our people and the region.
