President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem al-Meslet, refuted the disinformation that Iranian media have recently reported about the SOC’s relationship with Türkiye, stressing that “those who do not flinch from killing civilians and children will not find it hard to spread lies and fabrications.”
Al-Meslet indicated that while the Assad regime and Iranian sectarian militias are killing Syrian civilians, Türkiye has hosted millions of Syrian refugees fleeing Assad and his allies’ brutality. He stressed the depth of the historical relationship between the Syrian and Turkish peoples.
He pointed out that the days to come will expose the lies of the Iranian media, which have been involved in systematic spread of numerous lies and fabrications over the past several years.
He also pointed out that the latest meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu emphasized Türkiye’s continued support for the Syrian people and their just cause, namely regaining freedom, dignity and democracy.
