Salem Al-Meslet, the President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), has expressed the Syrian people’s strong rejection of any attempts at normalization with the Assad regime. He emphasized that any efforts to reconcile with a regime that harbors a Safavid agenda, which breeds nothing but hatred towards the region and its people, would only further undermine regional peace and security. Additionally, such actions would increase Iran’s influence and promote its malicious role against our brotherly countries, he warned.
Al-Meslet also underscored the critical role being played by the Assad regime, which considers its relationship with Tehran sacred, is the same as the role being played by the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and the Houthi militia in Yemen. He stressed that all these groups are tools that serve as nothing more than servants and implementers of the Iranian Ayatollahs’ agenda.
While appreciating the positions and sincere intentions of brothers and friends towards the Syrian people, Al-Meslet reaffirmed that Syria could only be returned to its Arab fold by purifying it from the malevolent Safavid agenda that the Assad regime serves. Achieving this would not be possible while the regime remains in power.
