Salem Al-Meslet, President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), has stated that the Syrian people do not rejoice in the destruction of their economic facilities, nor do they desire the destruction of their country’s institutions or take pleasure in the damage of their country’s resources and assets.
In comments he wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, Al-Meslet stressed that the responsibility for the recent Israeli attacks on Syria lies solely with the murderous Assad regime, which has turned every facility into a headquarters for its militias and Iranian mercenaries. The Israeli airstrikes targeted sites that were being used for the transfer of weapons from Iran and the manufacture of drugs.
Al-Meslet added: “While expressing regret over the damage to their homeland’s infrastructure, the Syrian people denounce the perpetrators of terrorism and drug trafficking. The crimes of the Iranian militias have not only affected the Syrian people but also their neighboring countries and the region.
The Iranian militias have been smuggling drugs and weapons to Arab countries, driven by a centuries-old hatred and the goal of spreading terrorism and drugs throughout the region.”
