President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem al-Meslet, visited the town of Jarabulus in rural Aleppo where he met with tribal leaders as well as representatives of civil and military forces. He stressed the need to maintain societal peace, and the important role of tribal community and wise people from civil and revolutionary forces in achieving this goal.
Al-Meslet was accompanied by SOC’s members Ali Melhem, Atef Zureik and Faisal Al-Sultan.
Al-Meslet discussed the situation in the region and was briefed about the recent tribal dispute in the town. He stressed the important, vital role of the judiciary and civil arbitration committees in resolving such disputes.
After the dispute was contained, Al-Meslet ordered the formation of a reconciliation committee to reach a solution that ends with reconciliation and ends the dispute.
Al-Meslet also visited the border crossing in the town, the local council, and the military police headquarters where met with the administrative staff and discussed with them the progress of work and ways to improve basic services in the region. (Source: SOC’s media department)
