President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem al-Meslet, visited the local council in the town of Ras al-Ayn in al-Hasaka province and met with the Head of the council, Muhammad Ali Hamza, and the rest of the council members. The two sides discussed the conditions in the town, its most urgent needs, and difficulties impeding the progress of work.
Al-Meslet was accompanied by member of the SOC’s political committee Ahmed Tomeh, SOC’s member Hussein Al-Ra’ad and Minister of Agriculture Hayel Al-Kalesh.
Al-Meslet praised the council’s efforts despite all the difficulties and limited resources, noting that the conditions in the town are clearly improving as they are different from the conditions observed in the previous visits.
He stressed that the SOC is seeking to lift the blockade off the region by communicating with states and donors to convey the true picture to them.
For his part, Ali Hamza spoke about the council’s efforts to improve the basic services and living conditions in the town, adding that the council rehabilitated most of the official services institutions.
Meanwhile, Al-Kalesh pointed out that his ministry is communicating with local and international organizations in order to meet the needs of farmers and establish directorates of agriculture in Al-Hasakah and Raqqa provinces, as well as other projects related to animal production and livestock.
