In yet another act of blatant defiance of UN Security Council resolutions, pro-regime forces targeted the town of Sarmin in rural Idlib with poisonous chlorine gas in the early morning hours, causing many cases of suffocation among civilians. Regime forces committed a horrible massacre in Dara’a where at least 15 civilians were killed and dozens wounded in aerial shelling on the rebel-held districts.
Spokesman for the Syrian Coalition Salem al-Meslet expresses full support for the rebels offensives in the north and south to liberate the rest of the Syrian territory and rid the civilians the murderous regime and the Iranian militias. FSA fighters are now Syria’s last hope in light of this international abandonment of the rights of the Syrian people and their demands of freedom, justice and dignity.
“Taking advantage of the world’s preoccupation with the fight on ISIS and the latest developments in Yemen, the Assad regime retaliates to every rebel advance with more massacres against civilians. The regime’s two chlorine gas attacks on Sarmin in less than a week and the last night attack on the nearby town of Binnish are stark examples of the Assad regime’s disregard for all international laws and conventions.”
“The fast unfolding changes in the region and the surge of terrorism are a direct result of for the international community’s silence on the ongoing genocidal crimes committed by the Assad regime against whoever oppose its tyrannical rule.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
