Assad regime forces and Iranian militias continue to target de-escalation zones in Idlib province, while Russian warplanes carry out daily airstrikes in the area.
The Syrian Civil Defense reported that on Monday night, 10 civilians, including two children and four women, were injured due to rocket shelling by regime forces on the town of Jisr al-Shughour in the western countryside of Idlib.
Local activists have stated that regime forces and Iranian militias, stationed at the Jorin army base in the Al-Ghab Plain area of western Hama countryside, launched five rockets at Jisr al-Shughour. Two of these rockets hit a market inside the town, resulting in injuries and damage to civilian homes.
Human rights activists have pointed out that the Assad regime and its allies intentionally target liberated areas, preventing citizens from enjoying security and stability. Whenever civilians attempt to rebuild their homes, they become targets for regime forces, who continue their policy of violence against civilians. This highlights the victims’ plight in the face of international community silence regarding violations against Syrians and the failure to hold the regime and Russia accountable for their actions.
