Spokesman for the Syrian National Coalition Salem al-Meslet stresses that “Assad’s departure is still a basic requirement for agreeing to engage in any political settlement,” pointing out that this is and always will be the basic demand of the Syrian people, who have sacrificed dearly towards this end.”
Meslet denies reports about “dropping the fate of Bashar al-Assad from the political settlement to the conflict in Syria,” describing these reports as baseless and unsubstantiated.
He said that media outlets should seek accuracy and credibility when reporting news related to the Syrian Coalition, urging them not to circulate such reports unless they are officially issued by the Syrian Coalition’s Media Office. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
