Vice President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Abdul Majeed Barakat, presented a comprehensive report on the past two months to the SOC’s General Assembly during its 69th meeting held in the liberated areas on Thursday.
Barakat spoke about the outcomes of recent meetings with foreign officials, including the president’s meeting with Turkish officials to address the problems and issues facing Syrian refugees in Türkiye. He added that the meetings included discussions with officials from France, the European Union, the United States, and Britain to talk about the latest developments in Syria and the Assad regime’s procrastination in the political process, as well as its evasion of implementing UN resolutions, especially Resolution 2254.
Barakat also discussed the tours and visits that the SOC recently conducted in the liberated areas, including its participation in the opening of a solar energy project in the town of Al-Bab, as well as meetings with the Youth and Sports Commission of the Syrian Interim Government and various unions and federations. He also highlighted the meetings the SOC held in the town of Ras Al-Ayn in the Hasakah countryside.
Barakat emphasized the follow-up and implementation of the SOC’s plan for its special offices, underscoring the holding of several meetings within the SOC aimed at increasing organization and communication to achieve more effective outcomes.
