The Syrian Civil Defense said that it counted 75 attacks by the Assad regime forces, Russia and allied militias on northwestern Syria in July, which resulted in dozens of civilian casualties and widespread destruction.
The volunteer rescue group indicated that the attacks killed 20 people, including eight children and two women, and wounded 34 others, including 13 children and four women.
The Civil Defense said that it carried out at least 40 search and rescue operations in northwestern Syria in July, which saw the highest number of casualties since the beginning of 2022.
The Syrian Opposition (SOC) earlier said that the atrocities of the Assad regime, Putin and their allies have not stopped over the past several years, nor did those honor any of the ceasefire agreements and calls for de-escalation. These crimes are the result of the lack of a serious international deterrent action in spite of the abundant evidence on these crimes, it added.
The SOC stressed that letting the Syrian people suffer at the hands of the Assad regime and its allies is a crime the responsibility for which rests with the international community in view of its silence and indifference. “The crime continues, and the blood of the Syrians has not dried up for eleven years in view of the absence of effective action by the international community to hold this regime accountable or expel it from Syria.”
