The Coordinator of the Civil Society Organizations Working Group, Naziha Akdeniz, presented a work report to the General Assembly of the Syrian Opposition Coalition at its 69th regular meeting, held at the office of the Syrian Interim Government in Aleppo province on Thursday.
Akdeniz provided an overview of the group’s work, which primarily focused on developing a new action plan, initiating the establishment of a network, and active participation in various activities. She detailed the action plan’s objectives, the network’s goals, the mechanism for its construction, identification of points of cooperation between the SOC and civil society organizations, and the advancement of civil work in the liberated areas to improve living conditions.
Akdeniz highlighted the group’s visits to the Turkish city of Gaziantep, where they engaged with representatives of 18 Syrian civil society organizations to discuss the network’s operations. The meetings resulted in important recommendations to ensure the network’s effectiveness and real benefits in serving the Syrian population.
Furthermore, Akdeniz discussed the group’s participation in various activities and events, collaborating with Syrian civil society organizations in civil and human rights initiatives. Emphasis was placed on the significance of expanding participation, cooperation, and coordination to advance the liberated areas in northern Syria.
