The Syrian Coalition accuses the Iranian regime of being responsible for the killing of civilians inside the Iranian embassy, saying that “Iran’s support of tyranny will not serve the true interests of the Iranian people,” and that continuing this policy will only expand the spiral of death and destruction in the region. This comes after the bombing of the Iranian Embassy in the Bir Hassan area south of the Lebanese capital of Beirut in which dozens of civilians were killed or injured. The Syrian Coalition reasserted in a statement that it “condemns all terrorist acts that affect civilians everywhere,” saying that the Iranian people are the victims of a regime that kills civilians systematically inside Syrian territory to defend the regime of Bashar al-Assad. According to the statement, “it has become clear that Iran and Hezbollah are partners with the Assad Regime in perpetrating crimes and terrorist operations against the Syrian people. The Assad regime would not be able to withstand and continue in its terrorist plan without the support of the Iranian regime.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
